8th Birthday HOME-SCHOOL Project - Fundamentals



About us

The Home-School Project is a place of non-formal education for common and spontaneous use by children and preadolescents.

Where we are

The Home-School Project is located in Antônio Pereira, a District of Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais State, Brazil.


What we do

We receive an average of 130 children and pre-adolescents in the Home-School weekly.
We offer Capoeira lessons as well as photography and cinema lessons during the week. On weekends, we offer toys, movies and books for the children and teens to play, watch and read. They can also take some of them home for a certain period of time.

The children and the preadolescents are instructed to have a good behavior, personal hygiene notions.

The general objectives of the Home-School Project are:
* Development of the process of memory, identity, imagination and the sense of belonging among local children, teenagers, and community members in general.
* Education and Art - workshops (cooking, gardening, computer maintenance, photography – when instructors are available).
* Education of the natural and cultural heritage (visits to waterfalls, churches, ruins).
